FRIMO Infrared Welding - High strength seams for large plactic components with 3D joining contours

The infrared welding is a contact-free process in which the workpieces are heated by infrared radiation. This weld process is also suitable for workpieces with large surfaces. Within this machinery the infrared fields are electronically controlled and monitored.

Infrared welding technology from FRIMO is used in agro-technology, for sanitary applications, and above all in the automotive industry: not only for large component assemblies such as instrument panels, center consoles or door trims, but also for applications such as ventilation system components, filters and containers straight through to plastic fuel tanks. Effective and comparatively inexpensive machine concepts and outstanding technical advantages make this process increasingly attractive.

The benefits at a glance:

  • Non-contact heating also enables the plasticizing of complex 3-D joint contours
  • Absolutely gas-tight welded seams
  • No fluff or dust particles at the joint seam
  • Exact and infinitely variable control of power and dwell time with precisely oriented infrared emitters
  • Individual temperature profiles for each emitter package
  • Use of shadow plates
